The Article Format (Takes 60 Seconds)

That is the whole format. Roughly 600 characters of narration per section keeps each slide tight.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the article-to-video tool really free?

Yes — the download is free, there are no credits or per-video fees, and videos have no paywalled watermark removal. It is supported by the ads on this page.

Does it work on Mac or Linux?

Not yet — the current version uses Windows PowerShell and Windows text-to-speech. A cross-platform version may come later.

Does my text get uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs locally on your own PC — slide rendering, narration, and video encoding. Nothing is sent to us.

Why does it download something on first run?

It fetches a portable copy of ffmpeg (~80 MB) into the bin folder — the industry-standard video encoder. It is never installed system-wide and only downloaded once.

Can I change the presenter avatar?

Yes — replace presenter.jpg with any square portrait photo and the tool uses it as the on-screen presenter. Delete the file to show the ToolsBear badge instead.

Can I change the voice?

The default uses your installed Windows voices (pass -Voice "Microsoft Zira Desktop" for a female voice). If you install Python plus the free edge-tts package, the script automatically upgrades to natural neural voices.

Is it safe to run a .bat file?

The launcher simply runs the included PowerShell script, which is plain readable text — open make-video.ps1 in Notepad to inspect every line yourself. There is no installer, no admin rights needed, no background services.
